During a quick trip to visit family (and to escape the heat) in the Pacific Northwest, I was delighted to see a wonderful Dale Chihuly exhibit at the Tacoma Art Museum.  But what stuck in my mind as an inspiration for these pots was one NW Indian basket which had fastenings of leather.  Fastenings of multi-colored yarns have made their way onto my coil-built pots.
